Maternity/Paternity Leave

One of the most important staffing decisions facing all clients, is how to effectively and economically provide for a maternity or paternity leave replacement. Given the length of the absence and its temporary nature, it is extremely important to obtain a resource that has the experience and technical skills to hit the ground running immediately. In addition to the challenge of obtaining a qualified resource, it may be cost-prohibitive to your firm to pay an agency an hourly rate for that resource.

The Abacus Solution

As with all of our services, we have designed our maternity leave offering to afford you the flexibility to choose the solution that best meets your requirements and budget.

Solution #1:

We can provide a qualified resource on an hourly basis (at a fixed markup of 60%), and payroll the individual on our books including all fringe costs. This rate reflects a significant reduction to the standard markup charged by our larger competitors. In addition, should you decide to deal with our firm on an exclusive basis for your maternity leave replacement, we will reduce the markup by a further 10%.

Solution #2:

If you prefer to have the individual on your payroll, you may choose to pay a one-time placement fee of 20% of the implied annual salary of the candidate. In addition, should you decide to deal with our firm on an exclusive basis for your maternity leave replacement, we will reduce the placement fee by a further 2%.
